about

Old school Soul Pop Gospel track. A throwback nod to the classic sound of the late 60's and early 70's. Powerful music with a powerful message that describes the turmoil, the social breakdown and unrest of America in the 21st century. Not only addressing the issues of today in our inner cities, but also giving the solution which is Love! If everyone in the world would love God's way (Loving their neighbor as themselves) and love God more than all things, it would eliminate most of, if not all of the worlds problems. There would be no more racism, classism, injustice, ghetto's or slums where people live having very little or no opportunities for growth and progress which gives them no hope for a better life or future economically.
So then many of them turn to a life of crime. Gang violence and drug addiction, alcohol abuse, drug dealing and prostitution. They resort to doing the things that tear down and destroy a community.
Those who do not live in the ghetto should express more love and compassion for those who do live there. And sympathize with their pain. This song was written from the heart as these issues weighed heavily on my heart and in my spirit. It is just a small musical token to bring light to a dark and dismal situation we have here in America.

lyrics

'Love In The Ghetto' (Lyrics)

Love In the ghetto
Love in the ghetto
Love in the ghetto
Love in the ghetto

(Chorus)
I'm sending this one out to sisters and brothers
what we need more of is love in the ghetto
it's time to work it out and come to together
God can change your heart to love in the ghetto

(1st Verse)
When i look at the daily news
it ain't nothin but the blues
feelings of unrest
everywhere people protest
they walk to bring a change
but it all remains the same
stop looking to the government
to straighten out all this mess

(Chorus)
I'm sending this one out to sisters and brothers
what we need more of is love in the ghetto
it's time to work it out and come to together
God can change your heart to love in the ghetto

(2nd Verse)
we got black on black crime
got to fight just to stay alive
police brutality
this is a state of emergency
violence is everywhere
the innocent are not spared
hatred in the streets
no justice no peace

(Repeat Chorus)
I'm sending this one out to sisters and brothers
what we need more of is love in the ghetto
it's time to work it out and come to together
God can change your heart to love in the ghetto
