Soul Pop Funk Gospel track that speaks about God's love for those who are lost, alone, rejected, abused, confused, and unloved. It's an outreach message to those who are caught up in a life of turmoil and they feel like the world has been against them their entire life.
I wrote this song back in 1983 to record with my former group 'Fire Power' It was going to be on our (1990) second album that we started on in 1989.
We rehearsed the song over and over again but never got a chance to record it because the band broke up after recording only 5 songs and we never made it to this song (it was next). It was going to be released as a single back then... In the lyrics my heart was reaching out and speaking to those young people who needed hope, and needed to know that they were loved and that God had a divine plan for their life. All they had to do was repent, surrender to him and trust in what he did for them on the cross... The song sounds old school because it was written during that era and I wanted to keep the same vibe and groove of that time. I stayed as close as possible to the original sound of 1983 and the way we rehearsed it... When I first wrote the song I showed it to our bass player because I wanted the bass line to be Iconic and played a certain way, so I played it for him and he played it the way I showed it to him... And that is the same bass line that you hear on this 2021 studio recording today...
By the way, it's the same bass player too "Emerson Henderson Jr." from my 80's band "Fire Power" so this song is very special to me and very nostalgic because it takes me back to a great time in music history!
